How does being a lover differ from being beloved?

Lovers usually have a relationship of a sexual nature. There may or may not be romantic involvement with it.

To the person being loved, these terms are one and the same. To a lot of people, there is no difference at all. A lover also might not be the person’s spouse.

Many times “lover” refers to the beneficiary of an extra-marital affair. So, you see, at times the word lover can have a negative meaning.

There are usually no negative connotations for the word beloved.

This word always means somebody who cares for someone else in a passionate way.

Such a person can be the love of their life, their soulmate, their life partner. A beloved person or pet is deeply cherished by one or more people.

Being a loving person versus a beloved person

Being a loving person versus a beloved person

The primary difference is a grammatical one. When someone is described as being a loving person, it means they are participating in the action of it, aka a verb.

When the term beloved is directed at the same person, it is being utilized as an adjective.

Another variation of this kind is in the word “love” versus “beloved.” Again, beloved is the adjective, whereas to love someone is a verb.

It is a different tense than normally found in the word “beloved.”

Can a person refer to a non-living thing as beloved or loved?

In reality, yes. Some people might think it is silly, but to the user of the word, it has great meaning.

A musician could deem his instrument beloved. An artist can say his or her creation is beloved.

Those things can also correctly be referred to as being loved by their creators.

There are also scores of people that love their vehicles, i.e., a car, a motorcycle, an airplane. You get the point now! A home can be loved as well.

So can activities, such as an occupation or a job. If a person values social media, they might say they love the individual sites.

A higher being can be beloved or loved too

A higher being can be beloved or loved too

What do we mean by that? Millions – if not billions – of people believe in a higher being. It could be God or Jesus, perhaps Buddha, or Allah, or Jehovah.

Whatever name it is called, this being can be loved or beloved.

In theory, a person is expected to love this being more than anyone or anything else. Some folks choose to love money or material possessions instead of a higher being.

It is an individual belief. Therefore, it is not wrong to say they love those things. To each, their own, right?

Can groups of people or things be loved?

Yes, they can. A person can love a symphony orchestra or a religious order of people.

An example of this is that many people love the splendor of a foreign country or the state they reside in.

Or, of course, they love their entire family no matter how big or small. They can love a group of scientists or the discoveries that are made by these scientists.

Folks can love an industry like the healthcare industry and related professions. All sorts of things can be loved.

What is the definition of deep love?

What is the definition of deep love

This is most often reserved for our soulmate or a life partner. It is a love you feel deep down in your heart and soul. It is your reason for existing.

When you find that special someone to share your life with, that love grows stronger every day.

Parents love their kids that much too. It is a different type of love than you have for your spouse.

Even if your relationship breaks up, you will always love the children, that never changes.

What is so special about love anyhow?

Ask this question of any couple that’s been together for decades and you will get an honest and enlightening answer.

Love is what most of us covet and spend our whole young life searching for. Whatever form that love takes for you, you and the other person will feel wonderful.

If you have not yet found yours, you will! Keep looking and never give up on it.

There is a loving relationship out there for everyone if they take the time to search for it.
