There is a lot of slang used to describe people, and new terms are popping up all the time, making it difficult to keep up and understand them all.
You may or may not have heard of a woman being referred to as Yellowbone, but this is just one of many ways to describe a type of woman.
You might find yourself wondering what a Yellowbone woman is.
A Yellowbone woman is a very fair-skinned Black or multiracial woman, and some Yellowbone women can be mistaken for White because their skin is so light-colored that they don’t appear to be mixed with any Black or other races.
In many cases, Yellowbone women are very attractive and can sometimes get lots of attention simply because they’re very light-skinned.

Yellowbone women are normally African American women, not white.
Again, some Yellowbone women can be so light-skinned that they appear White, yet they are not.
Do Yellowbone women feel they’re better than darker-skinned women?

While there are likely some Yellowbone women who feel they’re better than darker-skinned women, just because a woman is Yellowbone doesn’t mean she feels she’s superior to anyone else merely because of her complexion.
People in the Black community often rave about how beautiful Yellowbone women are while making darker-skinned women feel as if they’re not as attractive.
All the attention that Yellowbone women receive can sometimes cause them to feel that they’re better than dark-skinned women, even though no woman is better than another simply because of her complexion.
Do dark-skinned women wish they were lighter-skinned?
Unfortunately, some African American people place Yellowbone women on pedestals as if they’re superior to women with darker complexions.
At the same time, they look down on women with darker complexions, and the darker her skin is, the more rejected she may be.
As a result, some dark-skinned women probably do wish their skin were lighter at times, even though they should love themselves regardless.
Are Yellowbone women stuck-up?

Not all Yellowbone women are stuck-up, and not all stuck-up women are Yellowbone.
Just because a woman has a certain complexion doesn’t necessarily mean she’s conceited.
There certainly are some Yellowbone women who are conceited, just as there are medium and dark-complexioned women who are conceited, as well.
Due to the fact that many people, especially other Blacks, place so much emphasis on Yellowbone women, they are certainly more apt to be stuck-up.
Why do Black people fight against racism if many are racist against their own race?
Fortunately, not all Black people are racist against their own race and view Yellowbone women (and people in general) as being superior to darker-skinned Blacks.
However, those that do fight against racism while looking upon darker-skinned Blacks as being inferior don’t realize that they have a problem with racism themselves.
It’s sad that some Black people are racist – everyone should be treated equally regardless of their complexion, race, or ethnic background.
What type of woman is more attractive, Redbone or Yellowbone?

Redbone and Yellowbone women can be equally attractive, and just because a Yellowbone has a yellow hue to her complexion and is lighter-skinned doesn’t mean she’s more attractive than a Redbone woman or vice versa.
It really boils down to a person’s individual opinion, because some may prefer Redbone women while others may prefer Yellowbone women.
Some men find women of all colors and ethnic backgrounds equally as attractive, so Redbone women aren’t more attractive than Yellowbone women, and vice versa.
Is it hard for some women to be Yellowbones?
There are many reasons why Yellowbone women may have a hard time being super light-skinned.
First of all, they have a lot of pressure placed on them to be “beautiful” all the time and many people feel assume that because of their beauty they are not intelligent.
Furthermore, some Yellowbone women are accused of trying to be “white” and told that they’ve used skin whitening creams in order to attain their complexions.
Lighter-skinned women may also feel as if they’re always under scrutiny because of their complexions, while many of them just want to be left alone and stop being judged because of their skin color.
Why are some people so concerned about color and complexions?

This is an age-old question that no one really has the answer to, and color became an issue many centuries ago when Whites were automatically thought to be superior to other races.
Since then, it has evolved in ways that no one could have ever expected.
Somewhere along the way, Black people began judging people of their own race based on their complexions and deeming Yellowbones, who were the closest to being White, as the best-looking of all.
Do some Yellowbone women ever portray themselves as White?
There are undoubtedly some Yellowbone women who portray themselves as White.
Even though racism has improved significantly over the decades, it still does – and probably always will – exist.
If Yellowbone women have the opportunity to live as White women and avoid some of the racism that Black people deal with, then some of them will likely portray themselves as White.
Are there any movies about Yellowbone women pretending to be white?

There is a tear-jerker movie called “Imitation of Life” that came out in the 1930s and portrayed a Black housekeeper whose daughter was so fair-skinned that she was able to pretend to be White.
While pretending to be White, the daughter shunned her mother, and only when her mother died did the daughter regret having treated her mother the way she did.
She felt guilty because she had ignored her mother while she chose to live a life of privilege instead.
Do darker-skinned women ever attempt to appear lighter-skinned?
If you scrutinize store shelves where beauty products are next time you visit a Walmart or a similar store in a Black neighborhood, chances are you will notice numerous different skin whitening products.
This is because dark-skinned women are always trying to lighten their skin, sometimes to appear light-skinned, thinking it will make them appear more beautiful.
However, many of these products are not only ineffective, but they sometimes lead to an abundance of side effects, including rashes, scarring, and more.
Are there other ways for darker-skinned women to lighten their skin?

Spending time in the sun is a definite no-no for anyone trying to lighten the color of their skin.
There are also natural products such as milk, honey, and licorice extract, which supposedly lighten the skin.
While there may be a minute change in a woman’s complexion after staying out of the sun and using milk, honey, and licorice concoctions, the best thing that a woman can do is love her skin, regardless of the color it might be.
How can we stop African American people from judging each other based on their complexions?
It would probably make life a lot easier if women and people in general would stop judging each other based on how light or dark their skin color might be.
However, racism against all Blacks and other ethnic groups began many centuries ago and still exists, so it’s very unlikely that Blacks will stop judging each other based on their individual complexions.
All Black women can do is to try to set an example and teach their children not to be judgmental and maybe somehow this ridiculous racism among Blacks will eventually end.
Who are some Yellowbone male celebrities?

Just like Yellowbone celebrity women, there are many Yellowstone male celebrities. Lenny Kravitz, Allen Payne, and Shamar Moore.
Sure, all these Yellowbone male celebrities are incredibly good-looking, but it’s not necessarily just because of their complexions.
These male celebrities are attractive because of their overall features, and they would still be incredibly attractive if they had extremely dark skin as well.
Yellowbone women are often very beautiful and have “high-yellow” complexions.
Just because Yellowbone women are often considered beautiful doesn’t mean that they’re better or more beautiful than darker-skinned Black women.
However, the way society thinks, darker-skinned women can be made to feel inferior when all women are beautiful in their own, unique way, whether they are White, Black, light-skinned, olive-skinned, or another complexion or race.
